The Natural
Resource Department is in fact a culmination of several departments
under the Direction of Dan Shultz. With an approximately size of 15,000 acres
of Conifer and hardwood forest, the Natural Resource Department is
responsible for all aspects of this bountiful woodland. There are
several aspects to this department and each taken care of by a specific
sub-department. The departments are as follows:
- Forestry: The forestry
program is responsible for the management of approximately 15,000 acres
of mixed Conifer and hardwood forest. These areas are situated
along the upper reaches of the South Fork Tule River watershed.
- Wildlife and Parks: The Wildlife and Parks department
is responsible for the camp grounds on the reservation. upkeep
and maintenance of Cholollo camp grounds is one area of
upkeep. In addition to this, they assist with maintenance of
the forest and it's wildlife.
- Agriculture: The Agriculture department is
responsible for the Livestock grazing and range land. In
addition, issuance of permits for cattle grazing, horse grazing and
wood cutting. All permits are for the reservation community
only and are strictly enforced.
