Recreation Department

With a growing community, the Tule River Tribal Council observed that a gymnasium would benefit the community. With this in mind, the Tule River Tribal Council decided to create the Tule River community Gymnasium.  This building is located next to the Tribal Offices. The Tule River Community Gymnasium features a full length basket ball court, weight/cardio room, his and her locker rooms, Cultural room and a baseball field.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Recreation Department is to improve the morale and physical fitness levels of the Tule River Indian Reservation Community members of all ages, through participation in ongoing recreational and cultural activities offered by the Tule River Tribe’s Recreation Department. Facility Scheduling/Management

The Recreation Department is currently maintaining the Tule River Community Gymnasium, Ayashume Park and Bob Ojeda Field. The Gym, park and baseball field are available to checkout free to community members on a first come first serve basis. The gym also has a fitness room and stage available at no cost to the community member. Table and chairs are available for checkout through the Tribal Council. The Recreation Department offers a safe place where the community can interact socially thru active living. The department has increased the number of activity offerings and continues to grow with both adult and youth sport leagues. The department has plans to expand the cultural offerings by establishing a cultural center in the upstairs area of the gymnasium. This will allow the Cultural Coordinator to organize, implement and direct cultural activities; recruit appropriate teachers and elders.
